Scalloped Precast Concrete Panels

The primary advantage of architectural precast concrete is its plasticity and the virtually unlimited effects it can provide. BPDL designs and manufactures custom-made, high-precision molds to create unique and original elements. Their incredible work is visible on the façade of 11 Hoyt Street, a new high-rise landmark located in Brooklyn, designed by the inimitable Studio Gang. The concrete face appears to ripple, an effect created by applying a combination of scalloped and flat precast concrete panels. “The design for 11 Hoyt explores the limits and possibilities of precast concrete façade design,” says Weston Walker, design principal and partner, Studio Gang.
